![]() ![]() While there are more threads about MSI-afterburner and these particular questions, those are mostly outdated or didn't (i.m.o) contain a complete answer.ġ. Tbh I also thought it's a bug maybe but the behavior is consistent between different GPUs and Overclocking software / versions and I've asked around everyone who tried it could confirm this. Thats just how it is, might be different if auto start is applied, but I've never used it to my recollection so I can't say for sure. OC from Precision X is still applied, and yeah I did check this with GPU-Z it clocks higher than default, because the OC is still active, even when Afterburner seemingly isn't running (after exiting it of course) Open Precision X > load profile > apply > exit precision XĬheck taskmanager, none of the precision X processes active as far I can tell > open Afterburner > do nothing, no loading profiles > So the test I did today (because I wasn't sure how to demonstrate this behavior) was I think part of the misunderstanding here might be that you've maybe used to set Afterburner at start up, I don't do that ever.Īs said it *keeps* the OC even you completely exit, what stops working immediately tho is any monitoring through RTSS and it also doesn't control the fans anymore, however the Nvidia standard fan curve takes over then. I did, they stay even when closing Afterburner. Do test, and use some other monitoring software to verify that your clocks are what you set while Afterburner is not loaded.
